Affo-Toffey rolls out scholarship scheme for constituents

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has engaged heads of Senior High Schools (SHS) in the constituency on a scholarship scheme she has introduced.

MsAffo-Toffeyexplained and outlined the scope and purpose of the scholarship scheme in the meeting with headmasters and also highlighted the benefits it would bring to the students.

The scheme which is expected to commence this March, is tailored for brilliant but needy pupils with aggregates of not more than 15 and 17 for Junior High Schools (JHS) both boys and girls respectively, assist and support brilliant but needy pupils entering  SHS.

Madam Affo-Toffey asked the headmasters to understand the scheme and the role they would play to make it successful to ensure its sustenance for more brilliant but needy students to be enrolled in the scheme.

She assured the headmasters and parents of the students to sustain the scheme to reduce the burden and channel their finances into other areas and asked the headmasters and parents to assist the students fill the forms by deserving students.

“The scholarship is yet another fulfilment of my campaign promise through my works, exhibited commitment, dedication and determination to deliver on my promise I made to my constituents and I will reciprocate that with more development projects to improve livelihoods.

“Last month, I broke grounds for the construction of a bridge at Bentelobo, lobbied to get 3G network for Bonyere and also hasone of the economic hubs in the constituency in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region,” Madam Affo-Toffey touted. –ghanaweb.com
