Aduana Stars upset Dreams FC at Dawu

Ghana Premier League (GPL) leaders, Aduana Stars maintained their top spot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Dreams FC at the Dawu Theatre of Dreams in their match day 15 clash played yesterday.

Stephen Badu’s sixth minute strike was enough for the ‘Ogya’ lads to grab all three points on away soil.

It was a game the host had high hopes of halting the good run of the Dormaa lad.

With an impressive showing so far, Dreams appeared a worthy candidates to apply the brakes on the leaders who have their own plans of stretching the lead as the two traditional sides, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko mount a title chase.

They gave that ambition the start it deserves as Dreams lay an early siege in the area of the visitors to cause an early upset.

Aduana, however, turned that omen on the host, finding the back of the net with the very first chance of the game through Badu.

It left Dreams FC with a tall ladder to climb which they failed to do in the rest of the 84 minutes played plus additional time.

At the Nana Gyebour Park, Bechem United continued their impressive run as they recorded an empathic 6-2 victory over Real Tamale United.

Isaiah Nyarko opened the scores for the Hunters before Hafiz Konkoni registered a hat-trick and a brace from Clinton Duodu.

The visitors scored twice through Mohammed Sadat and Mustapha Fuseini.

It also rained goals at the Cape Coast Stadium where struggling Kotoku Royals defeated high-flying Gold Stars in a five-goal thriller to mark their third triumph of the campaign.

Royals scored two late first half goals through Richard Dzikoe and Andy Kumi, with his second in the second half.

Abednego Tetteh and Ibrahim Laar reduced the deficit for the victors.
