Academic City College holds conference for heads of institutions

Academic City College, a tertiary institution in Ghana with an ultra-modern campus in Accra, on Wednesday held an educational conference for Heads and Assistants of Second Cycle Institutions, Heads of Departments, Student Counsellors and teachers.

The maiden workshop was held as part of efforts to promote and support quality education in Africa.

The event themed, “Managing the Learning Process: Systems Approach to Teaching and Learning” saw about 50 participants from schools including Mfantsiman Senior High School (SHS), Achimota, Accra Academy, Methodist Girls, Association International School, Galaxy International, Pope John SHS, Krobo Girls SHS, and Arch Bishop Porters SHS.

The President of the College, Fred McBagonluri, told the Ghana News Agency that, the Workshop was aimed at building a strategic partnership and also to woo students to the College.

Mr. McBagonluri said, as a tertiary institution that recruits students from most of the institutions, it was prudent to involve the stakeholders and let them know what the College was capable of delivering to the students.

“We are building a strategic partnership with these institutions to present ourselves to them and also to introduce to them what we do and why their students should choose Academic City College in their next academic level, as the excellent alternative. We wanted stakeholders to understand what we are capable of delivering and why students should choose us.” he said.

At the end of the conference, certificates of participation were presented to the participants.

The school runs four faculties in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, and Communication for undergraduates and have plans to offer a Masters Degree in the future.
