AbWMA raises more revenue

Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly (AbWMA) has so far raised GH¢1,904,996.39 in revenue generation from January to date this year.

The amount represents 94.5 per cent of GH¢2,016,284.00 budgeted to be raised by the AbWMA in the 2019 financial year.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of AbWMA, Mr George Cyril Bray disclosed this at the meet the press series of the Assembly in Accra yesterday.

The programme which was aimed at briefing stakeholders on developmental issues and government projects being executed by the Assembly brought together traditional rulers, opinion leaders, assembly members, presiding members and heads of institutions from the area.

On social protection, Mr Bray stated that 31 households have benefited from the Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty (LEAP) programme 2019 households.

He said to address open defecation in the communities, 150 toilet facilities have been provided.

Mr Bray said a two storey six-unit classroom block with ancillary facility had been constructed for the Akweibu community.
