The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in partnership with the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has held a one-day seminar on pre-retirement preparations for 74 workers of GRA who are due for retirement.
It was aimed at educating them on how to prepare adequately before attaining the compulsory retirement age of 60.
The Sunyani Area Representative of the office of Corporate Affairs of SSNIT, Mr Sylvester Teprey, in a presentation entreated the participants to prepare and be ready mentally and physically to deal with post retirement challenges.
He implored workers in general that whilst in active service too they should regularly update their SSNIT records to avoid difficulties that often arose in the processing of their pension benefits.
“You can use your SSNIT Portal ID to view and print your statement or you can walk to any of our offices to get your statement printed for you”, he stated.
Mr Teprey stressed the need for employees to ensure that there was no gap in their monthly contributions at SSNIT to prevent unnecessary delays in the processing of their pensions.
