6 suspects arrested in connection with murder of 2 women

Six suspects have been nabbed in connection with the murder of two women at Abrepo in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, last Thursday.


A police source confirmed the arrest to the Ghanaian Times, but did not give details on the suspects in view of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

Bodies of the two women were found near a hotel at Abrepo in Kumasi by some residents, who called the police to take them to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, after libation was poured by some elders of the community.

Police source earlier indicated that, one of the women, fair in complexion, and believed to be in  her 40s, had her black trousers pulled down to her knees without panties with her red blouse pulled up to the neck and a lady’s handbag around the neck.

The other woman was found wearing a black blouse and skirt with her face and hands pinned to the ground and her skirt unwrapped to the knees.

Mrs Elizabeth Agyemang, Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, who visited the scene, appealed to the public, especially women, to be more security conscious.

She assured that a meeting would be convened to find solutions to the killings in the metropolis.
