Nona Graceland School opens new block

A basic school in Accra, Nona Graceland School has undertaken a disinfection exercise on its facilities as part of efforts to help curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). 

The exercise was done in collaboration with the Private Division of Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Ledzokuku-Krowor Education Office and Zoomlion Ghana in readiness for reopening of schools.

Additionally, the school has procured face masks, hand sanitisers and other personal protective equipment for both staff and pupils and have organized training for staff to equip them with adequate information about the disease.

 In celebration of their 5th anniversary, the school on Friday inaugurated a modern classroom block fitted with an ICT laboratory, visitor’s lounge, mini playground, and washrooms among others for lower crèche and nursery pupils.

Comfort Tetteh Nanor, Chief Executive Officer of the school, said the new facilities would enable the school to deliver its objective of growing an institution that offers quality education that meet international standards.

“The new block is not just good news for us but for our extended targets who live across Accra, Ghana and West Africa. It positions us better to continue to deliver our objective of growing the school beyond borders,” she said.

In order to expose the children to basic computing skills to enable them compete rightly across the globe, she indicated that, the school would stock and open an ultra-modern ICT centre to facilitate teaching and learning of ICT from the basic level.
