Following a scuffle with a fellow student, a form one male student of the KonongoOdumase Senior High School,has been killed.
Consequently, five suspects, including the prime suspect, all form two students and aged 17, have been arrested in connection with the murder.
The police would not mention their names in view of the ongoing investigation.
Deceased, identified as Larhan Sam-Una,17 was said to have been stabbed to death by his form two friend, Emmanuel OseiFrimpong,the prime suspect, with a small kitchen knife, on Friday,at about 9:30pm in one of the dormitories on campus.
Suspect OseiFrimpong,also known as ‘Tupac’, escaped death by an inch by the timely arrival of the police as some of the students descended on him to discipline him.
“Blood spilled out profusely from the deceased because the wound was so deep.” One of the students remarked.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)AduAgyemangDuah,Konongo Municipal Police Commander, confirmed the incident to the Ghanaian Times, here.
According to the police, on the day of the incident,the students had closed from prep at about 8:30p.m.
He claimed that the five students conspired to go to House Three, to bully the first year students.
In the course of that, suspect OseiFrimpong slapped one of the students which compelled deceased to prevent him from engaging in any brawl.
DSP Agyemang claimed that,that infuriated suspect OseiFrimpong, who pulled out the kitchen knife from his pocket and stabbed the deceased in the lower left abdomen.
He said the deceased bled profusely and was pronounced dead on arrival at the KonongoGoverment Hospital, but the body had been deposited at the Yawkwei mortuary.
The police said the kitchen knife had been retrieved from suspectOseiFrimpong, who together with his colleagues is in police custody.
Mr David KwabenaAsare,Assistant Head Master, also confirmed the incident but said police were investigating it.
