4-day ‘DecorSign Expo’ festival launched in Accra

A festival, celebrating the works of talented interior designers and décor specialists all across the globe was yesterday launched in Accra.

Dubbed “DecorSign Expo”, the event which has been slated for November, this year and is expected to span over a four-day period from November 10 to 13, is being organised by DecorSign, a hub for interior and exterior décor.

The founder and Creative Lead, DecorSign, MandyLouis, noted that the expo would bring together a community of local and international players in the creative industry with a vision to celebrate and promote Ghana as a leading global interior design hub.

She said it was also expected to feature an extensive range of architects, designers, manufacturers and producers who would showcase their collections of exquisite works.

“The expo will include seminars, classes, exhibition, emerging designers’ session, student competition and product launch,” she added.

Mrs Louis underscored that her organisation had purposed to create a common platform that was high-ended and luxurious for all industry players.

“This platform will not be limited to only the industry players but to young business-minded individuals and creative minds,” she added.

She said DecorSign would consistently provide great contents and that would subsequently create positive impacts on the progress of the country and beyond.

“We welcome all moral and financial support from companies, ministries and institutions to affirm the success and the continuity of DecorSign,” she added.

The Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Abdullah Abanga, assured of the government’s commitment and support towards the initiative.

Speaking on tax relieves and eradications, he urged all to be circumspect in their requisitions for such and be reminded that some agencies and programmes relied on such taxes.

Mr Abanga used the opportunity to call on all to unite and work towards attaining the objective of the expo.

President of the Ghana Real Estates Developers Association (GREDA), Mr Patrick EboBonful who lauded the idea of using local materials, similarly entreated all to take advantage and support persons like the founder of DecorSign who came up with such initiatives.

Mr Foster Akonnor, President, the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA), commended the brains behind the expo, adding that the initiative would raise the country’s flag high.

He revealed that the GIA was preparing an events centre and was hopeful that it would be completed next year and can host the expo by then.
