3 remanded for illegal sale of land

Three persons, who conspired to produce fake documents which they used in selling land to a farmer at Asuofua in the AtwimaNwabiagya North District, have been remanded into prison custody by the Nkawie Circuit Court.

George Kofi Noah, 23, Otuo Acheampong,  23, and Owusu Banahene, 47, are said to have used fake documents to sell the building plot for GH ¢20,000.00 to the farmer.

The pleas of the suspects were not taken, and they would reappear before the court presided by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey on January 10, 2020.

Detective Chief Inspector Comfort Amankwaa told the court that the suspects were residents of Suame in the Suame Municipality, while the complainant was resident of Kenyasi Abirem in the Kwabre East Municipality.

She said in March this year, the suspects produced an allocation paper, site plan, an indenture and other fake documents of a building plot, and convinced the complainant to buy.

Chief Insp  Amankwaa said when the complainant went to the site, she met another person, who was in the process of building a house.

She said when the complainant presented her documents to the elders of the town, they were detected to be fake. – GNA
