The police on Sunday arrested three men at Agavedzi in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, for allegedly murdering a man and seeking help from a fetish priest to sell the corpse.

The suspects are Korku Kalefe, 42, Afedo Kporto, 21, and SitsofeAmetoke, 27

The police have identified the deceased as Albert Anyinado, 30..

According a Volta Regional Police Headquarters spokesman, the trio were said to have informed the fetish priest at Agbozume that they had a human body for sale and that they needed his assistance to find a buyer.

The fetish priest informed the police about the offer from the suspects.

Subsequently, the police feigned interest in the deal and offered to pay the suspects GHc 7 000 for the corpse.

The spokesman said that the supposed buyer agreed to meet the suspects near the lagoon at Agavedzi to receive the body.

The suspects upon seeing the police abandoned the body and fled the scene, according to the spokesman.

However, the police pursued them and arrested them in their homes at Agavedzi, Agbozume and Adina.

The body of Anyinado has been deposited at the Ketu South Municipal Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
