2022 Deaf Football Gala tournament kicks off tomorrow

The Ghana Deaf Football Association (GDFA) will tomorrow hold the third edition of the national deaf football gala tournament at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Scheduled to start at 9 am each day, the two-day tournament which was first staged in 2015, seeks to present an opportunity for persons in the deaf community to come together and exhibit their soccer skills and among other things earn a call-up into the national deaf team, known as the Black Wonders.

This year’s event would bring together 16 of the best teams dotted around the country.

In the opening fixture, Methodist United FC will lock horns with RedStar at 9am,  followed by Heart of Wolves taking on Accra Ambassador; Ketu South DFC will battle Wild Jaguar, Bono Golden play Shining DFC, with Ablekuma DFC sorting it out with Kasoa DFC.

Professional DFC will slug it out with Tema DFC with Deer DFC facing Oguaa DFC, while West Warrior cross swords with Suhum United in a final game of the preliminary round.

The tournament will continue on Saturday morning with the quarter-final stages game.

At stake would be a trophy and medals for the winners and runners-up.
