20-year-old woman murdered at Doryumu-Abeka

The people of Doryumu-Abeka, in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region, woke up Monday to the bizarre news of the gruesome murder of a 20-year-old woman, Juliet Obu.

The body of the victim lying prostrate in a pool of blood with visible knife wounds in front of a shop few meters away from her house, sent shockwaves through the spine making residents wonder who might have committed the crime.

Some residents who last saw Juliet said she was in the company of a young man they suspected to be her boyfriend some few minutes before she was found dead in a pool of blood. 

One of them said they heard her shout for help, but moments later when people came out to see what was happening, they found her lifeless body lying in a pool of blood on the ground.

The young man,suspected to be the boyfriend of Juliet, is yet to be found and identified. 

One resident who knew the victim described her as being a lively and friendly woman with infectious smile.

Acting Public Affairs Officer of the Tema Regional Police Command, Chief Inspector Dede Dzakpasu, confirmed the incident to the Ghanaian Times.

She said on January 1, 2021 at 10:01pm the Tema Police received a distress call about murder.

Chief Insp Dzakpasusaid when the police went to the crime scene, they saw the deceased, lying in a pool of blood with deep cut on her neck and other parts of the body.

He said the body was conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary for autopsy, and the case was under investigation, but no arrest has been made.
