Two Ghanaian retired referees, Gloria Adjei from Central Region and Jones Akubiem from the Eastern Region have been selected to take part in a three-day WAFU Zone B Technical Instructors course in Burkina Faso.
The course started yesterday and is expected to close on Wednesday.
Gloria Adjei and Jones Akubiem were selected based on their involvement and excellent performance in the training and development of the ‘Catch Them Young’ referees programme.
The training programme forms part of the vision of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to continue to invest in seminars to train more Technical and Physical Instructors to encourage more retired and committed referees at all levels.
The course is the first ever Technical Instructors’ course for the duo at the WAFU level.
The two retired referees will be attached to the Referees Department to design training programmes on youth development. —GFA
