A circuit court at Goaso has sentenced two persons to 10 years imprisonment each in hard labour for robbing of the Goaso Midwifery Nursing Training School in the Ahafo Region.

The two, Isaac Kwame Bonsu, 19, and Christian Mensah,18, both unemployed, were said to have attacked  and robbed some trainees at the school of their mobile phones,  cash and other valuable items at their hostels.

The suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit crime to wit robbery, and pleaded guilty of the charges.

The court presided over by Judge Akwasi Acheampong convicted them on their own plea.

Chief Inspector Daniel Tawia, prosecuting, told the court that the incident happened on Easter Sunday.

He said that convicts who were armed with knives and scissors accosted their victims at spot near the Goaso Methodist School and robbed them of their mobile phones valued at GH¢1500, cash of GH¢10 and other valuables and fled into the bush.

Chief Insp Tawia said the convicts were arrested by the police the following day and during interrogation, they admitted committing the crime and seizing the items and money from the victims.
