2 Caprice robbery suspects shot dead by police

Two persons suspected to be armed robbers have been shot dead and another arrested by the police in a shoot-out at Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

One policeman of the Anti-robbery squad sustained gunshot wounds in his thigh and is receiving medical attention at a health facility.

The incident occurred at the Buduburam lorry station close to the Accra-Takoradi highway at dawn on Monday.

According to the police, it was in connection with the robbery attack at Caprice in Accra on Friday, last week.

The suspects were chased out of their hideouts at Buduburam, also known as Liberia Camp, upon intelligence.

An update on the story was posted by the police on their facebook wall on Monday.

Residents who witnessed the incidents said two persons were killed, one arrested and two others escaped while a motorcycle with registration number M-22 GW 5054 was seized by the police.
