2 arrested over alleged killing of family head

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of the family head of the KleyTsokunya Clan, in the Prampram Traditional Area of Accra.

The two suspects have been detained at the Devtraco Police Station assisting in  investigation.

Nene AyehOtuSeiKlo, 57-year old fisherman and contractor, was purportedly shot in the head by unknown assailants while he was in the company of other kingmakers,who went to a shrine to perform traditional rites.

A brother of Nene Klo, Abraham Ayeh,had said he received a distress call from the daughter about the shooting of the brother, when he was in the house praying.

The body of Nene Klohas been deposited at the hospital for preservation and autopsy.

Meanwhile the Tema Regional Police Command in a statement,to the media f confirmed the incident, and said the Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) BarimaTweneboahSasraku II, led personnel to the crime scene.

The police said two persons, identified as TawiahNyumu and Nene TetteyKwadzo, senior members of the Anneh We Royal Gate in Prampram, who suffered gunshot wounds, were receiving medical attention at the Tema General Hospital.

The statement said the victims, who were part of a group of family heads, who had gone to the Lalue Shrine at Prampram to perform traditional rites, were attacked by unknown gunmen, resulting in the casualty and injuries at about 3:00 am.

It said ”The protracting chieftaincy dispute in Prampram,  has over the years led to the destruction of property, injury and death of some of the royals.”

The statement said on December 13, 2018, the then caretaker Mankralo of  Prampram, Nene  Atsure Benta III, was shot dead by unknown gun men while returning from a meeting at Dodowa.
