Kuwait Embassy gives food items to Muslim institutions

More than 50 Muslim institutions in the country have been presented with 1,575 boxes of assorted food items by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait to support Muslims in the Ramadan fasting.

The beneficiaries include the International Muslim Women Union, Centre for Islamic Affairs and Humanitarian Services, and Abdul Washad Hussain Foundation.

The donation, comprising items such as rice, oil and spaghetti, among others, forms part of Iftar Sa’em (breaking of fast) programme to assist Muslims break their fast during the Holy Ramadan. 

It was support from philanthropists from the State of Kuwait under the auspices of Awqaf Foundation and supervision of Care and Social Development.

The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, Mohammed Hussain Al-Failakawi, making the presentation in Accra last Friday, said with the advent of the holy month, the embassy with the support of philanthropists was giving the items to the Muslim communities to help them break their fast.

He wished all Muslims a successful fasting.

Mr Abdul Washad Hussain of AWH Foundation on behalf of the beneficiaries called on Ghanaian Muslims to pray for the continuous peace and stability in the country during the Holy Ramadan.

“During the Holy Ramadan let’s all show love to all and be peaceful in all that we do,” he added.

He commended the embassy for the kind gesture and appealed to other organisations to emulate the example.

The donation was the third one; the first took place in June 2015.N
