Knowledge Club for students launched

A Knowledge Club aimed at instilling the principles of knowledge management, techniques and its best practices for students in schools has been launched.

The launch held at the Central University at Prampram would also empower the younger generation to take a centre stage in the new age of Information Technology.

It was organised by the Knowledge Kinetics Organisation (2KO), a non-governmental organisation and the Multimedia Group Limited.

Launching it, Mr Samuel Otabil, Board Chair of 2KO said since the world was entering a knowledge economy it was imperative for Ghana to lead the continent to ensure that it adhered to the new standards.

The CEO of 2KO, Mr Edwin Acheampong said the creation of the club was to ensure that government’s projects and policies were brought to the door steps of the youth in order to participate.

“The individual who is knowledgeable is rich and organisations that is knowledge based is very competitive and countries with knowledge based economies are developed so it is important for Ghana to exploit knowledge in order to thrive,” he said.

Mr Acheampong urged the government to create a clear cut policy that ensured that information technology and data was a priority.
