The Chief Executive Officer of Bambino Montessori at New Achimota in Accra, Mrs. Audrey Akaba has urged parents to desist from removing their children at the basic school from one school to the other without valid reasons.
She said it is an open secret that some parents do so leaving in their wake unpaid arrears of fees adding that parents should stop the practice because it is unhealthy.
Mrs Akaba added that such a practice did not promote trust between the school and parents and advised parents to approach “the school” administration to resolve issues.
Speaking as the chairman at the 30thspeech and prize-giving day and graduation ceremony of Veron Preparatory School at Mataheko in Accra, she said the practice was harmful to the academic stability and progression of the basic school child.
She advised parents to let children in their formative years complete at least the kindergarten in order for them to have a full grasp of knowledge that pertains to the very foundation of academic life.
Mrs. Akaba admonished parents to provide the requisite logistics to ensure that children in their formative years acquire and endure the moral and academic training.
Furthermore, she encouraged parents to give children more room to operate to unravel their hidden talents since children were a bundle of budding talents and potential yet to emerge given the necessary freedom and attention.
In a welcome address, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Albert Botchway commended the staff for their commitment and hardwork that resulted in the eye-catching display of cultural talent by the pupils and the impressive academic results.
He urged all educational stakeholders, particularly the school and parents to acknowledge and play their roles effectively to advance the interest of pupils who were the ultimate beneficiaries.
The Director of the School, Mr. George Botchway in a remark, advised all teachers to constantly upgrade themselves and be abreast of the wind of change blowing in the educational sector, adding that teachers should endeavor to commit to the present reforms and not undermine education under political lenses.
