LUGC holds annual fundraising, harvest at Amuzukope

The Lift Up God Church (LUGC) in the Central Region on Sunday held its annual fundraising and harvest here at Amuzukope, near Kasoa, in the Central Region, with a call on the congregation to give willingly for the sake of God.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea, who made the call said blessed were those who give than those who received.

Mr Akyea who launched the appeal for fund in aid of the church as a special guest, excited the congregation with his piercing sermon and his eloquence in singing the gospel song attracting loud applause of “hallelujah” in response to his “Praise the Lord.”

The theme for this year harvest was   “Arise and let us build” (Nehemia 2:17.

Quoting extensively from the Holy Bible, Mr Akyea admonished the congregation to be in the habit of giving out for a good course stressing “give and it shall be given to you.”

He called on the congregation to work harder in life, commit to God and “He shall bring you to the wealthy place.”

Mr Akyea said it was sad that social media tendered to engage the attention of people to the neglect of reading the Bible to achieve salvation.

The church aims to complete its untra-modern edifice by beautifying it to make it a conducive place of worship.

The General Overseer of the church, Reverend Stephen Yaw Osei, in a message said the church he founded in 2016 to win souls for Christ, among other things, was in dire need of set of instruments, air conditioner, lighting and sound system and tiles.

“Beloved as Solomon used very expensive items in building God’s house and making it very conducive for members to feel at home, we are therefore urging all visitors, members and all invited guest to support,” Rev. Osei, who is a Director at the Ministry Works and Housing told the congregation.

Quoting from Deutoromy 28:1, “Now it shall come to pass if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all his commandment which he commands you today, that the Lord your God will set you highly above all nations of the earth,” Rev. told the congregation
