2019 KIC contestants donate to Army Recruit Training School

PParticipants of this year’s AgriTech Challenge, organised by the Kosmos Innovation Centre, have donated garbage bins to the Army Recruit Training School, as part of efforts to building a healthy and clean environment.

In January of this year, the “Agri-Techies” attended expert training in leadership and discipline at the Army School in Shai Hills and, after the event, donated the bins to show their appreciation.

The participants were thankful for the warm welcome they each received and for the confidence the instructors had in them, pushing them to achieve things they thought were impossible.

The participants acknowledged that although the school was very clean, they could hardly see any bins around and therefore decided to come together and buy additional bins for the school in case they were needed in the future.

Presenting the items and speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr Selom Anyomi-Odjoh said: “This training really opened our eyes to the qualities and discipline needed to be a true leader. Over five days we were inspired and transformed.

“We have come to appreciate in a different perspective and recognise how the training learnt in the army can be transferred to growing resilience in entrepreneurs. This would not have been possible if we had not been part of the Kosmos Innovation Centre.”

Accepting the gifts Lieutenant Colonel ELS Gyadu, Commanding Officer of the school said: “We appreciate this gesture very much, thanks to the collaboration with Kosmos Energy. It has been our privilege to help whip up the fire in these young energetic Ghanaians.

“We find a great alignment between what we are doing with our own young Ghanaians and the Kosmos Innovation Centre programme, together we are creating future leaders for Ghana’s development. You can count on us as partners in building entrepreneurs to transform Ghana.

The presentation was made at the orientation event of the 2019 Agri-Techies.
