2 arrested for stealing chief fisherman’s belongings

Two people have been arrested by the police for allegedly stealing valuable items belonging to the chief fisherman at Ekumfi Nakwa in the Central Region.  

The items were two multi television decorders, two Itel keypd,mobile phone, and a radio.

The suspects, Kwame Badu and Ebenezer Abban had in their possession dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Central Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Irene Oppong confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday.

She said on October 5, at about 2a.m,the chief fisherman of Ekumfi Nakwa, Nana Kofi Ketseaba,  accompanied by one other (complainant) arrested and brought to the police the suspects  together with some items in a bag.

 DSP Oppong said the complainants told the police that on same day, the suspects entered the chief fisherman’s room whilst he was asleep and stole the items and absconded, but they (suspects) were later arrested and items retrieved.
