Two men described by the police as notorious highways robbers last Friday were arrested while on their way to rob residents of Yeji in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The two, Osman Omaru and Hassan Mohammed, both 27, and of Fulani-extraction, were arrested at the police check- point at Sawaba, near Yeji.
Briefing The Ghanaian Times here, yesterday, Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Christopher Tawiah, Regional Police Public Relations Officer, said the two suspects were known robbers who had been operating at various locations in the country.
He said two shot guns, seven”bb cartridges and eight ammunitions were found in their possession.
ASP Tawiah said the suspects would be transferred, from the Yeji Police to Regional Headquarters for further screening and interrogation.
