Yeboah Wins Ghana’s Fastest U-18

EMMANUEL Yeboah from Ashanti region was on Saturday crowned Ghana’s Fastest Human U-18 following an electrifying sprinting by the young star at the Elwak Sports Stadium.

The Standard Chartered Bank sponsored event saw Yeboah putting up some outstanding piece of sprinting to the admiration of dignitaries at the venue to win the boys event.

He was followed closely by Richard Seklorwu and Isaac Botwe from Ashanti region and the Eastern region respectively for the second and third position in that order.

In the girls’ event, Latifa Ali also from the Ashanti region was first while Ernestina Ayi and Hor Halutie both of Greater Accra region came second and third respectively.

Winners of both the boys and girls event receive GHC3000 while the first and second runners up also received GHC 2000 and GHC1000 for their efforts.

Coaches of the athletes and their schools also received GHC1000 each as a reward for their roles in the athletes’ performance on the day.

Yeboah in an interview with Times Sports after the event is optimistic of becoming one of the biggest athletes the world has ever seen.

He stated that, he would endeavor to become the Usian Bolt of Ghana and win huge laurels for the country as far as 100 meters is concerned.

Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank, Kweku Bedu-Addo congratulated the winners for their exploits while praising other athletes for ensuring a successful event.

He further urged government to invest more into athletics especially from the school level adding that many talents are available to be nurtured to win
