Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority Tourist Club (GPHATC), Nick Royal Hotel and African Network for Finance and Development, have embarked on health walk at Tema.
Speaking to The Ghanaian Times at the end of the walk, the president of GPHATC, who is also the manageress of GPHA Stores, Mrs. Mercy Akonnor, said this year’s exercise formed part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the club, which comes off next month.
She said GPHATC would roll out a month-long programme of activities, including the launch of the anniversary, donations to charity homes in the Tema metropolis, a cruise at Akosombo, and a thanks-giving service at the Tema First Baptist Church to climax the anniversary.
Sales and Marketing manageress of Nick Royal Hotel, Mrs. Belinda Boadi Debrah, noted that corporate workers had invariably been weighed down by stress, hence, the need to engage them in health walk to keep them fit.
She also said the health walk, which was the fourth in its series since 2012, was to help participants lose weight, burn calories and fat.
Mrs. Debrah stressed that providing hospitality services to the people included the overall client satisfaction, particularly, their health hence the inception of the annual health walk since 2012 to keep them healthy.
She expressed gratitude to the participants and assured them that the exercise would be ritually done annually for their health benefits.
The exercise was climaxed with a raffle draw in which participants won various prizes after the aerobics session.
