An unemployed woman, who bit off part of a co-tenant’s forefinger for warning her to stay away from her husband, appeared before an Accra circuit court on Friday.
Felicia Akyaa, was charged with causing harm, but her plea was not taken.
The court, presided by Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, admitted her to bail in the sum of GHC10, 000 with two sureties to appear again on November 22.
Inspector Judith B. Asante prayed the court to allow him to amend the fact sheet to enable the parties in the case to appear again before the court on November 22.
Insp. Asanate said that the complainant, Doris Dansoa, lived in the same house with the suspect at Nungua, a suburb of Accra.
Prosecution said sometime this year, the complainant accused Akyaa of having sexual relationship with her husband.
On October 20, this year, the complainant claimed she heard her husband speaking on his mobile phone with the suspect.
According to Insp. Asante, the complainant later called the suspect on phone and warned her to stay away from her husband.
The court heard that a few minutes after the call, Akyaa entered the complainant’s room, assaulted her and bit off part of her forefinger.
The complainant reported the matter to the police and she was issued with a form to seek medical attention.
