Wisa failed to appear before the court on June 27, which compelled the court to issue a warrant for his arrest on the request of the prosecution.
At yesterday’s sitting however, he failed again to appear before the court. Subsequently, the case was adjourned to August 3.
His counsel, Jerry Avenorgbo, on June 27, told the court that all attempts to reach out to Wisa after the previous adjourned day had proved futile.
Shortly after that, the Police prosecutor, Chief Inspector, Judith Asante, prayed the court to issue a bench warrant for the arrest of the accused, which was upheld by the court presided over by Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku.
The investigator, Detective Chief Inspector Edward Adjei Odame, who was the first prosecution witness in his testimony on January 25, told the court that the Greater Accra Regional Command’s attention was drawn to a video on the internet, adding that it acquired a copy of the clip and it was detected that the accused was a musician and so was invited by the police to assist with investigations into an act of gross indecency.
He added that when Wisa, known in private life as Eugiene Ahie showed up at the unit, the video was shown to him, adding that investigations revealed that on December 24, 2015, Airtel, in partnership with an Accra based Radio Station, Citi FM, organised an event dubbed “Decemba 2 Rememba”, in which the accused and other artistes were invited to perform.
The prosecution witness noted that at about 12 am, the accused together with a lady dancer took their turn on the stage and during the performance of his second song on the night, the accused drew close to the female dancer, who was facing the audience with her back.
Detective Odame added that when the accused drew close to the lady, he allegedly pulled down his trousers and boxer shorts, removed his penis and went behind the lady and caressed her with his penis as he was performing.
He added that upon further investigations, the accused allegedly admitted the offense and was duly charged and arraigned.
