Hajia Zaynab Joyce Mahama, the National Women’s Organiser of the NDC has stated that current national development chall- enges require greater participation of women in the policy-making process to them.

She said this at a two-day meeting of the NDC women’s wing at Sogakope at the weekend.

The meeting was to enable the participants interact and share experiences with regards to their field work and also adopt measures to strengthen ties between the membership of the party and female government appointees.

She explained that women have positive impact on the country’s political front over the years, “we have to intensify our relentless efforts for full recognition for the society to realise its full socio-economic potential”.

Hajia Zaynab pointed out that issues concerning women would continue to dominate the agenda on national discourse.

This, she said, underscored the need for us to rekindle the awareness on women’s education, especially on their role in politics “to enable us to have a strong voice on matters affecting our country”.
