Western NDC Slates Congress For Nov. 13

Dr Kwabena AdjeiFifty-seven aspirants including ten females will joust for 14 positions when the Western Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), goes to congress slated for Thursday, November 13.

The aspirants would be vetted today and tomorrow, according to the regional secretary of the party, J.R.D. Kobina.

At the close of nomimations, three aspirants filed for the regional chairman position. They are the incumbent, Nana Kojo Torku, Michael Aidoo, Robert Anumel and Noble Justice Ampong,

Seven persons, Johnson Armah,Solomon K. Amoah, Jerry Kankam Darkwa,Alhaji Fuseini Mahama,Oheneba Kofi Ankama, Alhaji Abdallah Toppoh and Kobinah Pra Annan, would contest for three slots for the vice chairmanship.

Joseph Nelson,Musah Adamu and Stephen Ayombisa, are vying for the position of secretary while Charles Kofi Adu-Fordjour, Jose Elijah, Emmanuel Donkor, Stanley Annan, Emmanuel Gordon,Thomas Asienah and George Dadzie Jnr., have entered the race for the deputy secretary position.

For the regional organiser position, Osman Tanko Garba, Japhet Baidoo and George Kobina Richardson, would have their names on the ballot paper while Ekow Arhin, Kwesi Dick Thomas are also vying for the   deputy organiser position.

The contest for the youth organiser, would be among Daniel Darlington Atisto, Clamperstone Kweku Sagoe, Younus Mohammed and Isaac Cobbinah. The deputy youth organiser position will be contested by Justice Kofi Ahiaveh, Nkuah Michael Gideon, Abizi Morkeh, Robert Agyekum, Anita Lafoneku and Alex E. Nti.

Anita Anan, the incumbent women’s organiser, would battle it out with Janet   Ansah for the   position while her deputy, Araba Tagoe, would also contest Beatrice Sam, Anna Baffoe Bonnie and Beatrice Owusu Amankwah.

The propaganda secretary position would also be contested between Eric Afful and Famous Tumi-Acquah, and that of the deputy position would be battled among Joseph Appiah, Jacob Appiah,Ebenezer Essien, Richard Ernest Kirk Mensah and Hameed K.Williams.

Anthony Anstash Asmah and Esther Bus –Kwofie are vying for the treasurer   position while Moses Kwame Gyetuah, Anthony .K. Kwofie, Francis K. N. T. Apuri, Timothy Mensah, Nana Alima Abdulai and Marian Raji,would have registered for the   Deputy Treasurer contest.

The regional secretary told The Ghanaian Times, here yesterday that campaigning has been peaceful, adding “there is calm in the party”.
