General Manager of SSP Mazda Mathieu Castre, left the Achimota Golf Club on Saturday content with the organisation of the Mazda Classic Golf tournament.
He said after the 18-hole event which attracted over 100 golfers across the country that “The competition has really lived up to its theme, it was indeed classic. The level of competition and the par excellent organisation gives us the assurance that we will continue with this tournament periodically.”
The Mazda boss added “Our association with Achimota Golf was a key part of the localised campaign to establish successful relationships with key local partners.
“Mazda’s return to Ghana was launched this year on the campaign slogan “The Feline is Back”, aiming at connecting Africa with the soul of the car. The main focus of the campaign has been on “Taking Mazda to the People of Ghana.” by connecting with key local partners and letting Ghanaian ambassadors speak themselves about the brand.
Innocent Wayne, who played on a handicap of 14, won the ultimate prize after a 42net score, after beating Kwame Dorkey and Muyiina Adebusuyi by a stroke after both recorded 41 net apiece.
It was W. Haggermiller, 39net, who beat Ben Adu Owusu on count back, with Assah-Sam Kwadwo finishing in third place with 38points.
Clara Price recorded 33net to pick the ladies first prize, while Lucia Jonck, 30net and Vetch Bempong 30net followed in that order.
Winners were offered the Mazda signature prize “The Mazda Experience”, A weekend getaway to Aqua Safari Hotel in Ada including an exciting jet skiing activity and candlelit dinner. A Mazda car with driver cares for the needs, picking up the winner and returning him to its location was at stake.
