Watchman shot by robbers

TWO armed men last Tuesday, shot a watchman and robbed some residents of Yikene in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

The robbers shot Mohammed Abdulai, in the leg, and forced him to lead them to the main house where they stole mobile phones, labtops home theatres and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The tenants, most of who work with ADVANCE, a USAID-funded project, were not however, physically hurt.

Abdulai bled profusely and was rescued by a Police Patrol Team and taken to the Regional Hospital for medical attention.

He told the Ghana News Agency that he saw a sudden flashlight pointed at his face, and the two men standing over him.

He said the robbers used a white Mapuka motorbike in the operation.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) personnel at the scene speculated that the robbers might have used an imported shot gun, because of the shell found at the scene.
