The personnel, who walked through the principal streets of the town, singing patriotic songs and wielding placards some of which read “ Ghana First”, and “Let us promote peace”, accompanied by supporters of political parties.
The District Fire Commander, Divisional Officer Grade III Ellis Okoe Robinson said the walk by the personnel sought to educate the public on peaceful elections.
He advised supporters of political parties to avoid hate speech and be ambassadors of peace.
Mr. Robinson advised the youth not to allow politicians to use them to foment trouble, saying “Ghana is the only country we have, and we must ensure that it is jealously protected”.
He gave the assurance that the GNFS would prevent the outbreak of fires.
