Wassa Amenfi East Launches Education Project

mr-akwasi-oppong-fosuMr Akwasi Oppong-Fosu, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has launched an education project in the Wassa Amenfi East District, to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the area.

The project would benefit more than 400 pupils, between the ages of four and 14 years, in 23 primary schools in the district.

The project being facilitated by UCMAS Education Group, will train the pupils on easy way of learning Mathematics and holistic development of the brain.

At the launch last Saturday, at Wassa Akropong in the Western Region, Mr Oppong-Fosu, the Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East, presented teaching and learning materials to the beneficiaries, and entreated them to take their education serious.

“Through the project, some of you will become lawyers, pilots, doctors, accountants and engineers in the future,” he told them.

Mr Oppong-Fosu hinted he would launch an education fund in July, this year, to support students and teachers in the area.

The Regional Minister, Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, asked parents to embrace the project by supporting their wards to acquire quality education which would enhance development in the area.

He commended Mr Oppong-Fosu for the initiative and said “supporting education in rural communities is a laudable course which would speed up national development”. GNA
