The initiative formed part of activities towards the school’s 70th anniversary celebration next year.

Dr. David Ako Odoi, President of WASSOSA noted that all old students would be levied aside soliciting funds from corporate organisations and individuals for the project.

To be able to achieve the objectives, he encouraged all the old students to support in the construction of the facilities.

Mr. Eddison Gyamera, headmaster of the school, mentioned that the school currently has a population of 1,000 girls and 800 boys, adding that currently, a girls dormitory was under construction.

He noted that the completion of the two projects would greatly enhance academic work and performance.

Mr. Gyamera reiterated the commitment of the staff and students to maintain and improve on the high discipline and academic standards set by the school for it to remain a school of choice in Accra.

Professor Clement Somuah, Chairman of the governing board of WASS who launched the fundraising campaign, advised the students to study hard and strive for excellence so that their parents’ investments would not go waste.
