West African Football Academy (WAFA) yesterday ended the 18-match home unbeaten run of defending league champions, Wa All Stars with a 4-1 thumping in their week three outstanding Ghana Premier League (GPL) game played at the Malik Jabir Park in Wa.
Two goals from Richard Danso and one each from Daniel Lomotey and Majeed Ashimeru were all the academy boys needed to blow away the invincibility of the Wa Blues.
All Stars started on an impressive note but the game turned in the 35th minute when WAFA turned defense into attack and opened the scoring through Danso who finished off a swift move from the left side of the attack.
Four minutes into the second half, Sadiq Alhassan restored parity for the home side from a spot kick.
The visitors then took over the game and dominated the exchanges.
Speedster Daniel Adzigodi Lomotey restored the lead for the visitors on the 63rd minute with a sublime finish to the surprise of the home fans.
WAFA added the third goal in the 81st minute through Danso after he finished off a nice move involving Gideon Waja and Ashimeru in the goal area.
WAFA resorted to time wasting antics as players frequently went down on the pitch resulting in temporary hold ups to frustrate the host.
Despite that, Ashimeru put the icing on the cake for the visitors when he scored from close range in the 88th minute.
