Besides, the subject results of 1,994 candidates have been cancelled.

These were contained in the provisional results for the examination released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) yesterday, and signed by its Principal Public Affairs Officer Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe.

The statement said further that the entire results of candidates presented by 36 schools had been withheld.

It said investigations into alleged examination irregularities were being conducted and would be released after investigations were concluded by the council.

The statement said a total of 242,162 candidates, made up of 126,921 males and 115,241 females, took part in the examination involving 809 schools.

The WAEC said it had posted the results online for candidates to access their results.

“The council is in the process of dispatching the results to the schools, and candidates are advised to contact their heads of schools for their results”, the statement said.
