The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has released the provisional results of 143,116 candidate who took the November/December 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
A statement issued and copied The Ghanaian Times by Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Deputy Director, Public Affairs, said the results of 970 candidates alleged to be involved in various examination malpractices, had been withheld pending investigations.
It said the results would be released as soon as the Council concluded its investigations.
The statement added that candidates may access their results online at www.waecgh.org.
It advised institutions and organisations to use the confirmation/verification system to authenticate results presented to them online at the WAEC website.
“The Council wishes to assure members of the public that its results database is well secured. As such, all forged results can be detected by its confirmation/verification system. Institutions and organisations are advised to confirm or verify results presented to them directly from the Council or access the confirmation/verification service online at the WAEC website,” it said.
The statement also advised members of the public to be wary of the activities of fraudsters who would contact candidates with the promise of bettering their results for a fee.
