NON-resident citizens have been urged to assist their communities to initiate development programmes that will improve the lot of the people during festivals.
Addressing members of the Kina family of Gomoa Amanful as part of their annual Akwambo festival, Nana Kofi Ehuren, the Gyeasehen said besides setting the differences between the citizenry for peace and tranquility to prevail in their respective towns and villages during the festival, serious attention should also be paid to the long-term development plans of their communities.
He stressed the need, to allocate enough time to festivals to discuss development programmes.
That, he said, would afford both residents and non-resident citizens the opportunity to discuss matters affecting the developmental issues of their communities and come out with concrete and implementable solutions.
Nana Ehuren appealed to the Gomoa West District Assembly to assist the people to construct a 20-seater public place of convenience, assuring that the people would offer communal labour to speed up the project if given on contract.
