THE Director of the Department of Urban Roads, Dr. Abass Awolu has inspected the asphalting work on the Ho town roads and lauded the contractors, First Sky Limited for the brilliant execution of the project within three months.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Times after the inspection tour, Dr. Awolu said that the asphalt layout was of high quality, adding that with no more pot-holes, there was definitely great relief and safety on the roads.
The project covered 25 kilometres of the roads in the Ho municipality.
In addition, five-and-a-half kilometres of the roads within the Volta Barracks have also been asphalted, bringing to 30.5 the total distance of roads covered by the project in the regional capital.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the First Sky Group, Mr. Eric Kutortse was grateful to the chiefs and people of Ho for their cooperation during the project which was carried out day and night.
“The timely execution was made possible largely as a result of the cooperation from the people and we are very grateful”, Mr. Kutortse added.
The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Francis Ganyaglo said that after asphalting of the Ho town roads, other vital road projects in the region were now set to take off.
