United to chase Ramsey again

Ramsey - Set to leave Arsenal

Ramsey – Set to leave Arsenal

MANCHESTER United may make their third attempt for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Arsenal midfielder is on the verge of leaving the club at the end of the season as he runs down his contract.

A recent offer from his current club was withdrawn, meaning he is free to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January, and can move to any club for nothing when his contract expires next summer.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United duo Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward are interested in signing the player.

Alex Ferguson attempted to sign Ramsey when he was a teenager before he elected to join Arsenal from Cardiff in 2008

The paper claim that United also contacted Arsenal this summer to see if a deal could be done, but Unai Emery elected to keep him for his first season.

Ramsey was dropped for Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat to Chelsea, and Emery is keen to make his own signings rather than use his wage budget on keeping the 27-year-old.

United may lose midfielders Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata this summer, meaning the club could use a replacement, and a potential bargain could be found in the form of Ramsey.

However, there is interest from other clubs including Liverpool and Juventus. – Eurosport
