Unilever Cuts Sod For New Building

Uniliver GhanaUnilever Ghana, on Monday cut the sod for the construction of a GH¢1.2 building facility for employees at its factory in Tema.

The building would serve as dressing rooms for 600 male and female employees, 50 shower rooms, 40 toilets (water closet) and a laundry.

Other facilities include a fully equipped fitness centre, a recreational centre, and a store to sell products to employees at discount prices.

The Managing Director of Unilever Ghana, Ms. Maidie Elizabeth Arkutu, said the leadership team of the company, as part of its growth agenda, was investing in the facility for employees to boost their morale.

“In a bid to develop high performance teams with the passion to win, we have always demonstrated a commitment to the implementation of systems and the creation of an enabling environment that creates a highly productive and conducive ambience that eventually promotes the vitality of employees,” she said.

Human Resource Director of Unilever West Africa, Mr. Stendert Krommendam, expressed hope that the construction of the facility would boost the morale of workers to enable them work hard to increase production.
