UNICEF supports nutrition project in VR

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), yesterday donated a Toyota Hilux to the Ministry of Health in Accra, to support the implementation of nutrition activities in the Volta Region.
The vehicle worth about US$930,318 is expected to help monitor nutritional activities on the field.
Susan Ngongi, UNICEF’s representative to Ghana who presented the vehicle to the ministry said the fund has during this year presented equipment worth GH¢12,380,593 to support the ministry to ensure effective healthcare delivery to all Ghanaians.
Mr. Alexander Segbefia, the Minister for Health thanked UNICEF for their assistance to the ministry and hoped that the fund would collaborate more effectively with the incoming minister for health to promote quality health care delivery.
The vehicle was handed over to the Volta Regional Director of Nutrition to ensure that it serves the purpose for which it was delivered.
