The President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta will be the Special Guest of Honour at Ghana’s 59th Independence Day anniversary celebration Sunday March 6.
The East African leader and one other yet to be named, will join President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday, to review the national parade of school children, voluntary organisations and security services at the Black Star Square, to commemorate the anniversary.
The theme for this year’s celebration is, “Investing in the youth for Ghana’s transformation.”
President Mahama will deliver the Independence anniversary address after a march by security personnel and school children, drills and equipment display by the security agencies and performances by various groups.
There will also be parades in all regional and district capitals across the country, while the country’s missions abroad will also host national day events.
Tomorrow, March 5, Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur will host the annual President’s Independence Day Awards at the State House.
