Professor Dapaah, agronomist and an indigene of, Yeji in the Pru District in the region takes over from Professor Esi Awuah, immediate past VC of the University.
The new VC took the oath of office administered by the Chairman of the University Council, Professor J.S.K Ayim.
Speaking at his investiture on Friday, Prof. Dapaah announced that under his leadership, he would engage all stakeholders towards the progress on the university.
He promised to live up to the responsibilities of his new role, and pledged to work closely with all unions and student leadership to ensure peace and harmony on the various campuses to advance the school’s mission to make it a great institution in Ghana.
To ensure the speedy development of UENR, Prof. Dapaah said he would operate under six thematic areas which include research, staff training, infrastructure development, academic excellence, resource mobilisation and ensuring the visibility of the University in Ghana and beyond.
Professor J.S.K. Ayim, Chairman of the University Council called for support and cooperation of all stakeholders of the University to enable the new Vice Chancellor to excel in his role.
According to him, the Council has confidence in the ability of the Vice Chancellor to deliver on his mandate.
Prof. Esi Awuah, the pioneer VC of the University assured that she’s always ready to place her experience at the doorstep of the new Vice Chancellor.
