The University of Cape Coast (UCC) Council has appointed Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the university.
Currently the Provost of the College of Education Studies, he takes over from incumbent VC Professor Domwini Dabire Kuupole, whose four-year term ends in September this year.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. John Kofi Nyan, Registrar and Secretary to Council, released after a special meeting held on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
Prof. Ampiah is expected to assume office in October, this year to steer the affairs of the university for the next four years.
