The Tumu Police have launched a manhunt for two suspects who escaped from their custody on Sunday.
The suspects, who were supposed to appear before court on Monday morning, escaped through the ceiling of the cell at the Tumu police station.
The escapees have been identified as Abdulai Alhassan being held for murder and Faisal Mohammed, a robbery suspect.
Meanwhile, the Tumu Divisional Police Commander, ASP William Ayensu Asare, has given officers on duty a 10-day ultimatum to re-arrest the suspects or face disciplinary action.
“We have given them 10 working days after which if we don’t find them, we will look at other measures,” he said.
Several Police officers have been deployed to ensure that the two suspected criminals are re-arrested.
