Two perish in car crash in K’si

Two people on board a private car were killed on the spot when the car rammed into an articulated truck at the “Tech Junction” at Ayigya, in Kumasi.

The incident took place at about 2:00A.M. on Saturday, and the bodies which could not be identified immediately, were collected by sympathisers who sent them to the nearby Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology(KNUST)  Mortuary.

When the Ghanaian Times got to the scene the mangled Car Opel Astra, GT 5216-T, was being towed away.

Eye witnesses told this paper that the articulated truck, GT 2534-13,
Daf, loaded with tomatoes and on its way to the North, had developed a fault and was parked in the road just after the overhead bridge.

It is believed that the private car was over speeding and the driver could not control it on approaching the truck and rammed into the hard steel at the tail.

No one could tell where the deceased were coming from but it was believed they might have attended some party in view of some food and drinks that were stuffed in the car.
