Turkish Construction Firm To Operate In Ghana

Ray Quarcoo PixA four-man Turkish investment team has arrived in the country to explore the possibility of setting up a cement construction company.

The team, representing Yeni Pers, a Turkish cement construction giant, is undertaking the visit as a follow-up to a fruitful discussion they had with Ghana’s Goodwill Sports Ambassador and an investor Mr. Ray Quarcoo, a few weeks ago in Turkey.

According to team leader Hayati Ozturk, they are in the country to do a feasibility study on the project.

He explained that Yeni Pers settled on Ghana because of its stability, adding that “Ghana has a working and practical democracy, rule of law works here which are very key to the construction and growth of every company.”

Mr. Ozturk said the team will return to Turkey and come back to Ghana later to formalise things for smooth take-off of the project which will include the construction of all cement based production materials.

The Turkish company is already making waves in Guinea, Sudan and Mozambique.

Commenting, Ambassador Quarcoo said: “Yeni Pers is doing extremely well in Africa, and I believe their coming to Ghana will provide employment opportunities for the youth in the country.”
