The Greater Accra Alumni Chapter of the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has donated assorted items to the Osu Children’s Home in Accra in support of the upkeep of the children at the orphanage.

As an initiative to assist in the enhancement of the welfare of the less privileged in society, the donation is part of activities marking the second anniversary of the chapter.

It is also to demonstrate the alumni group’s commitment to humanitarian work.

The items include student mattresses, toiletries, detergents, insecticides, toys, plastic cups and bowls, bags of sachet water and confectioneries.

Presenting the items at the orphanage on Saturday, Ms Akosua Vroom, Public Relations Officer of the group, expressed optimism that the gesture would aid the management of the Home to effectively cater for the children.

“We consider it as a responsibility to support the less privileged, especially children,” she said.

She commended the staff for the sacrifices they continue to make in caring for the children, and assured them of more support.

Madam Christiana Addo, Director of Osu Children’s Home, receiving the donation, thanked the group for assistance, and gave the assurance that it would be used purposefully.
